Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant Neighborhood Meeting

February 26 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

City of Hickory Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Neighborhood Meeting

What is the Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant?

The City of Hickory has been selected by the US Department of Energy to be the recipient of the Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) allocation in the amount of $76,750. The program’s primary objective is to encourage local governments to participate in activities that will reduce their overall total energy use by using these funds to develop projects that achieve energy conservation while focusing these efforts in historically disadvantaged communities.

The City seeks input from individuals and neighborhood groups for the projects it proposes for the EECBG. So that everyone will have an opportunity to be heard, a neighborhood meeting to obtain the views of citizens on proposed energy efficiency improvement projects has been scheduled to be held during the Concerned Citizens of Ridgeview meeting at the following date and time:

2/26/2024 at 5:30 pm
Ridgeview Recreation Center, 115 7th Ave SW, Hickory

Please voice your opinion on the proposed energy efficiency improvements and help the City develop the best plan for the use of these funds. The City’s website is www.hickorync.gov, and our phone number is 828-323-7500. Anyone unable to attend this public meeting may submit written views, proposals, or comments to the City of Hickory Infrastructure Grants Manager in c/o the Hickory Public Services Department, PO Box 398, Hickory, NC 28601. Comments will be received until April 15, 2024.
