Adult – Actress Anne Van Curen transforms into Grandma “Rowena” Gatewood to describe what it was like to be the first woman to solo hike the Appalachian Trail in 1955. Based on Ben Mongomery’s book Grandma Gatewood’s Walk, Van Curen’s performance brings to life the story of the 67-year-old grandmother who set off alone to hike the Appalachian Trail wearing cloth tennis shoes and shorts.
