Lightning Bug Boogie 5K (Night Trail Run)

Lets get ready to Boogie! Our 1st Lightning Bug Boogie 5K Trail Run will take place on Friday, August 19th starting at 9:00 pm on the Lake Hickory Trails. This course will consist of off road trails that include hills, descents, tight turns, roots, rocks and other trail type features. All participants will be required to have a light in the form of a headlamp or flashlight.

Age groups are as follows:
0-9
10-14
15-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70+
Top 3 overall Male and Female
(Top 3 M/F will not medal in age groups)

A yoga practice of mindfulness, meditation, and movement with modifications offered for each participant to lessen or increase levels of strength, stretching, and balance. Please contact instructor Cynthia Haas at 828-295-2319 for more information!

A high-energy cardiovascular workout! Participants have total control of resistance and intensity levels of their workout. New participants should arrive at class at least 15 minutes early to ensure proper set-up on the bike. Towel and water bottle are suggested!

Calling all pickleballers! Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department is happy to announce that we will be hosting a free pickleball clinic at Neill Clark Recreation Center on Wednesday, June 29th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Randy Watkins, a Pickleball Instructor will be leading this clinic. Registration begins Wednesday, June 1st.
