As part of its annual 5K series, the Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department will host the third annual Ruff, Ruff, Run 5K and Dog Festival this September.<\/p>\n
The Ruff, Ruff, Run 5K will begin at Winkler Park on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. This dog friendly race invites participants to run with their canine companions along a 3.1 mile loop featuring both paved and wooded trails. All dogs must be leashed throughout the event and have proof of vaccinations.<\/p>\n
Before and after the race, runners, dogs, and families can enjoy the Ruff, Ruff, Run Dog Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The festival will feature food trucks, music, dog focused vendors, obedience demonstrations, and a special dog yoga session held after the 5K.<\/p>\n
Registration for the Ruff, Ruff, Run is open now at runsignup.com\/Race\/NC\/Hickory\/HickoryKSeries. The registration fee is $30, increasing to $35 after Sept. 13. Participants who register by Sept. 13 will receive a custom event t-shirt. T-shirts will be available to those who register after Sept. 13 on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/p>\n
Packet pickup will take place at Highland Recreation Center (1451 8th St Dr NE, Hickory) on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, Sept. 25, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Race bibs and t-shirts may also be picked up at Winkler Park on race day between 9:30 and 10:45 a.m.<\/p>\n
The Hickory 5K Series is presented by Frye Regional Medical Center, the Official Healthcare Provider of the Hickory 5K Series, and OS1st, the Official Performance Sock of the Hickory 5K Series.<\/p>\n
