Firefighters to practice skills during training fire

On Friday, June 4, Hickory firefighters will be conducting a live burn exercise, which consists of burning a house. The training exercise will be held at 3809 Falling Creek Road and will allow firefighters to practice their skills.

The drill is scheduled to start around 8:30 a.m. and should be concluded by 5:00 p.m. Plans are for Falling Creek Road to remain open during the exercise; however, there could be traffic congestion due to the burn.

WHEN: Friday, June 4, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
