Make a Trip to Hickory

Hickory is located on I-40 and Hwy 321, an hour from Charlotte and Asheville, at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  With Lake Hickory, mountain bike trails, hiking, shopping, dining, and entertainment, you can spend the day or make it a weekend trip.  Watch a Crawdads baseball game or a show at the Hickory Community Theatre, the Western Piedmont Symphony, or the Hickory Choral Society.  Stop by the S.A.L.T. Block’s Hickory Museum of Art or Catawba Science Center and Planetarium.  There are plenty of local and national restaurants and shops. 

Within 1-hour drive, Hickory residents can go hiking at Gateway Wilderness State Trail, Wilson Creek, Pisgah National Forest, Riverbend Trail, and Mountain Creek Park in Sherrills Ford to name a few.
