Center Crossing 105 S Center St Construction of 50 (tax credit) apartment units for senior housing in downtown Hickory. Building permit issued May 2020.

Elite Family Eye Care 2340 15th Ave SE Construction of a multi tenant shell building in Fairbrook. One space will be occupied by Elite Family Eye Care. Building permit issued August 2020. Upfit permit issued August 2020.

The Estates at Mosteller Phase II 1998 Mosteller Ave SE Construction of 78 (market rate) apartment units across three buildings. Building permits issued April 2020.

 

   

 

The Gates at Highland (Formerly Pepperstone Apartments)

1760 8th St Dr NE

Three phased construction of eight new apartment buildings containing 192 (market rate) dwelling units. Grading permit issued March 2018. Phase II apartment buildings completed May 2019. Phase III apartment buildings completed May 2020. Phase IV building permits issued July 2019. Phase IV buildings completed September 2020. Awaiting final site approvals.

1319 17th St Dr SE

Construction of a five story hotel in Southeast Hickory. Project on hold as of October 2020.

Isabella's Forest Subdivision 15th St Pl NE Construction of a 15 lot single family, cluster subdivision in Northeast Hickory. Building permits issued October 2019 (4), December 2019 (4), April 2020 (2), and July 2020 (3). Seven buildings completed as of October 2020.

 

     

The Lodge Apartments

1186 4th St Ct SW

Construction of a four story apartment building containing 80 (tax credit) units in Southwest Hickory. Building permit issued April 2019. Temporary occupancy approved September 2020. Awaiting final site approvals.

One North Center 1 N Center St Construction of a mid-rise mixed use building that will include 95 (market rate) apartment units, restaurant space, retail spaces, and a shared parking deck near Hickory City Hall. Demolition and grading work started October 2019. Footing and foundation permit issued November 2019. Building permit issued February 2020.

Preston Ridge (Startown Apartments) 2001 Startown Rd Construction of 172 (market rate) apartment units, as well as, retail/office space on Startown Road across from Catawba Valley Community College. Building permits issued September 2019. Temporary occupancy approved September 2020 for two buildings.

Second Street Inn 13 2nd St SE Alteration of a former warehouse into a short term lodging business near downtown Hickory. Building permit issued May 2020.

Sweetwater Village Townhomes (Hickory Greens) 2900 15th Ave Pl SE Construction of 50 (market rate) townhomes in the Fairbrook area. Erosion control permit issued August 2017. Annexation approved December 2018. Ten building permits (Phase I) issued October 2019.
