Community Response Unit (CRU)

HPD hires qualified candidates to join the Community Response Unit, a unit of security aides that assist in patrolling assigned areas throughout the City of Hickory. The assigned areas could vary in physical terrain and locations to include City parks and trail systems, the Downtown Social District, and the Hickory City Walks. CRUs will conduct traffic crash investigations throughout the city and will be responsible for following guidelines defined under NCGS 160A-499.6.
