Tony Wood grew up in Hickory and after graduating from Appalachian State University, he lived in several different cities and towns while establishing his professional life. When Tony and his wife, Lanie, decided to become parents, they returned to Hickory so that their son, Landen, could enjoy growing up in a safe, family-friendly community.
