Downtown Streetscape Project Continues, Road Closures Set for Aug. 24-26

Beginning Monday, Aug. 24, at 8 a.m., a private contractor will close a portion of Government Avenue SW and Second Street Place SW as work progresses on the Rural Downtown Economic Development Streetscapes Project. 

Access to the Post Office will remain accessible via sidewalks. The parking lots next to Olde Hickory Station at 218 Government Avenue SW and 1 Third Street SW will remain open during this time.

A detour route will be provided. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and use caution when traveling near the work zone to help ensure crews can complete their work safely each day. 

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 5 p.m.
