Hickory Fire Department responds to structure fire
At approximately 6:40 Tuesday morning, Hickory firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire located at 42 14th Street SE. On arrival, firefighters reported smoke and heavy fire coming from the attic of the structure.
Hickory Fire Department responded with three engines, two ladders, a rescue truck, and two command units. Catawba County EMS and Hickory Police also responded to the incident.
After confirming all occupants were out of the burning building, firefighters worked to contain and extinguish the fire. Fire damages were reported to be heavy. No injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was called to assist residents.
Fire Investigators determined the fire was caused by an electrical failure.
