Hickory Optimist Park Unveils New Improvements and Opens Dog Park Areas July 3

The City of Hickory invites residents and their pets to experience new enhancements at Hickory Optimist Park, including the opening of the park’s newly completed dog park areas on July 3.

The improved space features separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, convenient pet waste stations, dog-friendly water fountains, individual covered shelters with benches, and expanded parking to support increased use.

These additions complement the park’s many existing amenities, including four outdoor pickleball courts, a picnic shelter with tables and grills, community room with restrooms and catering kitchen, outdoor basketball court, playground, outdoor fitness equipment zone, and a paved walking trail.

Hickory Optimist Park is located at 751 2nd Ave SW in downtown Hickory.
