Hickory Police investigate homicide case

Hickory Police are investigating a homicide that occurred at Mountain View Car Wash on Tuesday, April 2.

Hickory officers responded to reports of a shooting at 2994 Hwy 127 South at 7:03 p.m. where they located Dalton James Flynn, 23, of Vale, suffering from a gunshot wound. Flynn was transported from the scene to Frye Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

Officers learned a possible suspect had left the scene in a white Audi which was located at 7:08 p.m. by the Brookford Police Department. He was identified to be Nicholas Huffman, 19, of Vale. Huffman suffered a gunshot wound during the altercation. Catawba County EMS was called and he was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.
