Hickory Police investigate threat
On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Hickory Police Officers were made aware by Hickory Christian Academy staff of a possible social media threat that mentioned Hickory Christian Academy.
Hickory Police Investigators worked closely in cooperation with Hickory Christian Academy staff and began investigating the source of the threat. Investigators quickly identified a juvenile who was responsible for the threat.
A juvenile petition was issued for this juvenile through the North Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice on Tuesday, September 9, for Felony Communication of a Threat of Mass Violence on Educational Property. The Hickory Police Department takes all potential threats to schools very seriously and will investigate threats promptly and thoroughly. Based on this investigation, there are no known possible threats.
