Hickory Public Library to host Hickory History program
Walk down memory lane with Hickory Public Library at Hickory History: Yearbook Memories from Ridgeview, Claremont, and Hickory High Schools.
This unique program, designed to help the Hickory community connect over shared history and fond memories, is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, from 2-4 p.m. at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library.
Local genealogist and founder of Heritage with Heart Rhonda Roederer will provide a presentation on the history of high schools in the area.
Community members are then invited to browse the library’s collection of yearbooks and reminisce about old friends, sports teams, and more.
Hickory natives are invited to bring their old yearbooks to donate to the Hickory Public Library collection or lend to library staff to be digitized and then returned.
Staff will also assist individuals who wish to have some of their old photos, yearbooks, or mementos digitized. Records will be scanned and returned on a free USB flash drive, while supplies last.
Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is located at 375 Third Street NE in Hickory.
