Independence Day office and facility closings

The City of Hickory will close its offices on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. City of Hickory offices will reopen on Tuesday, July 6, at 8:30 a.m.

Other city department closings and/or schedule updates:

Public Services
The Solid Waste Division and its services, including garbage and recycling pickup, will operate on a normal schedule.

Hickory Public Library
Hickory Public Library, the Patrick Beaver Memorial main facility and the Ridgeview Branch, will be closed on Monday, July 5.

Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism
All City of Hickory recreation centers will be closed on Sunday, July 4. The Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, July 5. Highland Recreation Center will be open on Monday, July 5, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Brown Penn Recreation Center will be open to youth ages 15 and under on Monday, July 5, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parks are open 365 days.
