Recycle Right: Keep Dangerous Items Out of Your Blue Rollout

Batteries, scrap metal, and other prohibited items are showing up in blue recycling rollouts, and the photos here are just a few examples of what’s being pulled out.

Rechargeable batteries are especially dangerous. They can spark and start fires in recycling trucks and facilities across the country. Scrap metal, including car parts, can also damage equipment and put crews at risk.

Help keep Hickory safe and our trucks rolling smoothly: keep prohibited items out of your recycling rollout.
