Lake Hickory Trails

Re-opened in spring 2018, the Lake Hickory Trails were completely overhauled and rebuilt by professional trail builder Terra Tek, thanks to a partnership between the City of Hickory and the Northwest North Carolina Mountain Bike Alliance.

This system of nature and mountain biking trails spans 111 acres across two City of Hickory parks to offer roughly 8 miles of trail with five main sections:

  • Geitner Trail: a paved 1.5-mile scenic greenway that provides access to Hickory’s new Riverwalk.
  • Hickory Springs Loop: a 1.5-mile beginner-friendly loop that’s great for all ages.
  • Broyhill Trail: a 4.3-mile intermediate loop with spectacular views of Lake Hickory, fast flowy berms, and some exciting trail features that will keep you on your toes.
  • Rock N Road Pump Track: one of the biggest pump tracks in the region.
  • Jump Line: an advanced 1/8th-mile jump line that provides thrills for experienced riders.
