Old Lenoir Road closure for OLLE Art Walk construction

UPDATE 4/25/2025: This road closure has been postponed until further notice.

Beginning Monday, April 28, Old Lenoir Road will be closed from 15th Avenue NW to 12th Street Drive NW for OLLE Art Walk construction. The closure will be in place for approximately 2-3 months as work continues on the multiuse trail project. During this time, the roadway will be open to local traffic and emergency responders only. Drivers should use U.S. 321 to detour around the work zone.

The OLLE Art Walk will be part of the larger Hickory Trail multiuse system and bond program that seeks to increase quality of life for residents and spur economic revitalization by providing pedestrian and bicycle connectivity throughout the city. 

The OLLE Art Walk trail will run approximately 2.4 miles along Ninth Street NW and Old Lenoir Road to create a critical link between the City Walk, Riverwalk, and Aviation Walk segments of the Hickory Trail.
