Ribbon Cuttings to be held at Hickory Optimist and Bruce Meisner dog parks
The City of Hickory will host back‑to‑back ribbon cuttings for its two newest dog parks on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Hickory Optimist Park opened its new dog park in July but will celebrate with an official ribbon cutting on the same day as the City’s newest dog park at Bruce Meisner Park. The ceremony at Hickory Optimist Park (751 2nd Ave SW) will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the ribbon cutting at Bruce Meisner Park (35 Cloninger Mill Rd NE) at 11 a.m.
The Bruce Meisner Dog Park will be opened to the public on Friday, Oct. 30, ahead of the ribbon cutting event.
All community members are invited to attend both ribbon cutting celebrations. Free dog waste bag holders will be available at each ribbon cutting, while supplies last, so feel free to bring your furry friends.
These new dog parks provide fun, accessible spaces for residents and their pets, further enhancing both parks as valued community destinations.
