“Careers. Well Crafted.” is a career fair that offers the chance to connect directly with local employers, explore job and internship opportunities, and learn about resources to help you take your next career step. Whether you’re looking for your first job, a career change, or networking experience, this event is for you.
· Wednesday, February 4
· Drop-in between 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
· Hickory Metro Convention Center
Everyone is welcome!
While the event is especially geared toward students and recent graduates, community members, career changers, and job seekers of all experience levels are encouraged to attend.
· Local employers hiring for full-time, part-time, and internship positions, as well as local non-profits looking for volunteers
· On-the-spot networking opportunities
· A professional photographer taking free headshots
· Career Services representatives ready to assist with résumés, applications, and interview prep
Come as you are!
We understand not everyone owns professional clothing, and that’s okay. You’re welcome just as you are.
If you’d like to dress up a bit, this can be a great opportunity to practice for professional settings. Free professional headshots will be offered at the event.
· Copies of your résumé (if you have one)
· A notepad or your phone to take notes
· An open mind — and questions for employers!
If you don’t have a résumé yet, career services staff will be available to help you get started or polish what you have.
· Before you come, check the list of employers attending to identify which ones you’d like to talk to.
· Practice your introduction — a short summary of who you are and what kind of work interests you.
· Stop by the Career Services Stations near the entrance, during the fair, for help with résumés, interview tips, and professional communication.
