Hickory Police investigate traffic crash

Friday morning, Hickory Police Officers responded to a four vehicle traffic crash near the intersection of 2nd Street NE and 13th Avenue NE shortly after 8 a.m. A Nissan Rogue collided with a Toyota Tundra causing a chain reaction and damaging two other vehicles.

After the initial collision, the Nissan Rogue overturned. The driver of the Nissan sustained life threatening injuries and was airlifted to Atrium Heath Carolinas Medical Center. At the time of this release, the driver is still in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Excessive speed does not appear to be a factor in this crash.

This is an on-going investigation. The Hickory Police Department will release more information as the investigation continues.
