Patrol Division
Patrol represents the largest division of the police department. Patrol Officers respond to dispatched calls for service and self-initiate activity to investigate, deter, and solve crimes. Following our community policing model, officers also assist and interact with citizens and visitors to our city to create and strengthen relationships.
P.A.C.T. (Police and Community Together) began in the Ridgeview Community in 1990 and has developed into an integral part of our policing philosophy citywide. Many citizens know their PACT officers by name, which has cultivated stronger relationships between the police department and our citizens.
The city is divided into five zones, which we refer to as our PACTs. The patrol areas are Adam, Baker, Charles, David, and Edward. Each PACT has a commander, supervisor, and patrol officers assigned to provide the highest level of services with emphasis on problem solving and community engagement. We believe community policing is: EVERY PERSON, EVERY CALL, EVERY DAY!
You may reach a patrol commander by phone at (828) 261-2600.
