All Together Now: Celebrate Summer Learning with Frank Morrison, Featured Artist of the 2023 Collaborative Summer Learning Program

Hickory Public Library is excited to announce the All Together Now Summer Learning Program with special guest Frank Morrison, 2023’s All Together Now illustrator.

Beyond his many accolades and experiences, including being selected as the 2023 winner of the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Award, Mr. Morrison is visiting Hickory on Thursday, June 29, to present a special drawing demonstration at the Ridgeview Branch Library. Later that day, he will share what it is like to collaborate with publishers and authors for the creation of picture books at Hickory Museum of Art.

During these sessions, those in audience will learn, see, or hear Mr. Morrison speak on the following:

  • How a picture book produced
  • Drawing demonstrations
  • The importance of reading, creativity, and education
  • The effects of color and composition
  • The interaction between art and text
