Building Fire

At approximately 12:05 Wednesday morning, Hickory firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire located in the area of 1655 11th Ave NE. On arrival at 12:08, firefighters reported a large fire coming from the vacant factory building. Firefighters are still on the scene working to extinguish smoldering fires. Firefighters responded with four engines, two ladders, one rescue truck, and two command units. Hickory Police and Catawba County EMS also responded to the incident and to respond to additional emergency calls if needed, Long View, and St. Stephens’ fire departments were called in for mutual aid. At this time no injuries have been reported and damages to the building are considered major.
