City of Hickory inclement weather updates

City of Hickory offices, including City Hall, will operate on a normal schedule Wednesday, January 19.

Other City department closings and/or schedule updates:

Public Services
Solid Waste collection services are running. City of Hickory customers are asked to place rollouts at the curb as they would normally and leave the rollouts there until they can be serviced.

City crews continue to work to clear the roadways. The main thoroughfares have been mostly cleared and crews are now working on secondary/residential streets. Plowing operations will stop this evening when the temperatures drop below freezing, but they will resume when temperatures improve.

Hickory Public Library
Hickory Public Library, both the main Patrick Beaver Memorial facility and the Ridgeview Branch, will close at 5 p.m. tonight. Libraries will be open regular hours on Wednesday, January 19.

Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism
Westmont Senior Center is closed today, January 18. Highland Recreation Center will close at 7 p.m. tonight. Ridgeview Recreation Center will close at 6 p.m. tonight.

Highland Recreation Center will open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19. Ridgeview Recreation Center and Brown Penn Recreation Center will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19.

Henry Fork River Park, Neill Clark Recreation Park, Rotary-Geitner Park, and Kiwanis Park remain closed until further notice.
