City Park Hours

The Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department seasonally changes the hours of operation for all City-owned parks.

 

Effective April 1 through September 30, City park hours will be from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.  October 1 through March 31, park hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Please plan your outings accordingly.

 

April – September.......................7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

October – March.........................7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

 

At the closing time, park gates will be closed and locked.  If someone’s vehicle remains in the park after closing, the only way to leave the park is to contact the Hickory Police Department at (828) 328-5551 to come and unlock the gate.  
 

Splash Pad Hours:

During youth baseball/softball season (May 1 - June 15), the Charles D. Dixon Memorial Splash Pad at Kiwanis Park is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. From June 15 - September 30, the splash pad is open daily with normal operating hours of 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
