Explore North Carolina Land Grants With Genealogist David McCorkle at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library

Land grants records can be an invaluable resource when doing genealogical research. Join Genealogist David McCorkle at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Saturday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to learn more about NC land grants. McCorkle will explain what land grants are, where to find them, and how to use them to help research your family tree. This program will be presented both in-person and virtually.

David McCorkle is the creator of NC Land Grant Images and Data, the primary project of North Carolina Historical Records Online. McCorkle is a North Carolina native with deep roots dating back to the 1700s, primarily in the Mecklenburg County area. He is President of the Durham-Orange Genealogical Society (D-OGS) and is on the board of the North Carolina Genealogical Society, Mecklenburg Genealogical Society, and the Historic Mapping Congress. David has given lectures and webinars to national, state, and local audiences on topics such as land grants, court records, digitization, maps and mapping tools, land records, DNA, and land platting.

This presentation is available in-person and virtually. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link to the virtual session.
