Fire at mobile home park

On March 24 at approximately 12:29 p.m., Hickory Fire Department responded to a fire at Butler Mobile Home Park. On arrival, firefighters observed smoke and fire coming from the residence. Fortunately, all occupants were able to safely evacuate the home. Despite the diligent efforts of the Hickory firefighters, the structure suffered significant damage and is considered to be irreparable. The investigation of the fire determined that the combustibles near a burning stove top were the source of the fire. No injuries were reported.

Hickory Fire responded with two engines, one ladder, one heavy rescue unit, one command vehicle, and support staff. Catawba County EMS and Hickory Police also provided support.
