Hickory firefighters respond to mobile home fire

At approximately 10:25 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, Hickory firefighters responded to a possible mobile home fire at 940 27th St NE, Paradise Valley Mobile Home Park. Hickory firefighters responded with two engines, one ladder, one heavy rescue, and two command units. St. Stephens Fire Department and Catawba County EMS also responded to assist.

Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the back of the residence. A teenager residing in the home called 911 after smelling smoke and evacuating promptly. Investigation into the cause of the fire revealed an electrical malfunction, believed to have originated around the dryer within the home. The damage caused by the fire was extensive, making the property uninhabitable. The family occupying the residence was in the process of relocating to another home. No injuries were reported.
