Hickory Police investigation update

Hickory Police have charged and arrested a suspect for the shooting that occurred on Wednesday, January 31, that left one seriously injured.

Zamarion Emanuel Calloway, 19, of Hickory was charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging a weapon into occupied property. He was not given a bond.

Investigators determined that Calloway shot into a vehicle near South Center Street and 1st Avenue SE injuring one of three occupants. The vehicle the occupants were in, a 2010 Nissan Altima, had been reported stolen to the Hickory Police Department earlier that day. The injured victim, a male juvenile, was flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte where he is in stable condition as of Friday, February 2.
