Hickory Public Library announces new services in The Learning Lab
Hickory Public Library is offering new services in The Learning Lab at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library.
In addition to existing printing technologies and creative Maker Workshops, visitors to the library can now check out Learning Lab To-Go Kits. These kits provide tools, technology, and hands-on activities to bring STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) to life at home.
Designed for ages 7-12, the to-go kits feature curated materials aligned with educational themes such as engineering, game design, and coding.
Kits can be checked out for two weeks at a time and must be returned to the Circulation Desk at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library.
The Learning Lab also has a new Plant Share & Seed Exchange. Library visitors can bring plants and seeds from home and exchange them at no cost.
The Learning Lab Plant Share & Seed Exchange also offers a variety of gardening-themed workshops throughout the year. All workshops can be found on the library’s event calendar at hickory.librarycalendar.com.
