Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment is Now Available

Hickory Public Library is pleased to announce that we now offer Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment. Basic computer skills are essential even for entry-level jobs. Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment can help users evaluate their software and computer skills.

Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment allows you to take assessments and participate in tutorials to learn how to use computers effectively. Those receiving a passing score on a proctored exam are even eligible to receive a certificate to share with employers. Northstar’s self-guided modules include basic computer literacy standards, essential computer skills, essential software skills, and using technology in daily life.

Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment is made possible through funding from the State Library of North Carolina. Librarian Laurie Hutchinson is available by appointment to help users set up accounts and learn how to use Northstar Digital Literacy Assessment. If you are ready to learn more, call 828-261-2281. Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is located at 375 3rd Street NE on the SALT Block.
