YMCA Swim Program

In 2022, the Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department will continue to partner with the Hickory Foundation YMCA to offer swim lessons to City of Hickory residents. The YMCA swim program is for ages 6 months to 12 years old.

Winter Session: Registration dates will be Monday, February 7 - Saturday, February 12. Classes will be held Tuesday, February 22 - Saturday, April 2. Classes will be held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The session includes 6 lessons.

Summer Session 1: Registration dates will be Monday, May 23 - Saturday, May 28. Classes will be held Monday - Thursday, June 6 - June 16. The session includes 8 lessons.

Summer Session 2: Registration dates will be Monday, June 6 - Saturday, June 11. Classes will be held Monday - Thursday, June 20 - June 30. The session includes 8 lessons.

Summer Session 3: Registration dates will be Monday, June 27 - Saturday, July 2. Classes will be held Monday - Thursday, July 11 - July 21. The session includes 8 lessons.

Summer Session 4: Registration dates will be Monday, July 11 - Saturday, July 16. Classes will be held Monday - Thursday, July 25 - August 4. The session includes 8 lessons.

Fall Session: Registration dates will be Monday, September 26 - Saturday, October 1. Classes will be held Saturdays, October 15 - December 3 with the exception of Saturday, November 12 and 19. The session includes 6 lessons.

City of Hickory residents who complete a Residency Verification Form and provide a copy of their Birth Certificate, if under the age of 18, will be able to participate at no cost. Residency verification forms are available at the Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department Administrative Offices (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and Brown Penn Recreation Center (11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) on a first-come, first-served basis on Monday - Friday. Once a City resident has the verification form, they will register at the Hickory Foundation YMCA.
